This Refractometer from Aqua Medic is an optical instrument that can be used for determining your aquarium saltwater salinity. The value can be read either as an absolute salt concentration (??????, ppt) or as a specific density and can be determined in just a couple of seconds with a few drops. It also has a built in LED lighting that provides a very good readability even in low light conditions. The operating principle is based on the determination of the refractive index. This is directly dependent on the salt content of the solutions.
